Use when you have an arXiv id (new-style like 1706.03762 or with version 1706.03762v7, or old-style like hep-ex/0307015) and need its public metadata card: title, abstract/summary, authors with affiliations (emails removed), primary category, all categories, published and updated timestamps, author comment, journal reference, DOI, and abs/PDF URLs. Without a version suffix, arXiv returns the latest version.
